Haad Khom is one of our favorite beaches on Koh Phangan in Thailand. The beach offers indeed a more relaxed and secluded atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for those seeking peace and quiet, that’s why we loved it.
During our visit, there were just a few other people.
It’s undeniably tropical paradise where you can relax all day long and soak the sun. Haad Khom Koh Phangan is also described as a serene and relatively undeveloped beach.

Where is Haad Khom Beach?
Haad Khom Beach is situated on the northwest coast of Koh Phangan. It’s not so far away from Thong Sala which is main tourist hub of Koh Phangan. You can also save the location of Haad Khom Beach to your google maps app.
Where to stay on Koh Phangan
For party lovers, the best area to stay is near Haad Rin beach. That’s where you’ll also find the famous Full Moon Party. If you’re looking for a hippie laid-back vibe or if you’re a digital nomad head to Zen Beach. Other alternatives can be found in the northern part of the island, too.

How to get to Haad Khom Beach

To reach Haad Khom Koh Phangan you can take a taxi or rent a scooter from Thong Sala or anywhere around your accommodation. The journey to the beach may involve navigating some hilly terrain, but it’s generally easily accessible.
When it comes to parking you have to leave your scooter close to main road. From there you have to walk a little bit to reach the beach but it’ll take you only 2-3 minutes.
You can also get to Haad Khom Beach Koh Phangan on boat but this option will of course be the most expensive therefore it might be good if you are a group of 4 or more people and want to discover more beaches in one day.
Haad Khom Beach
As I have said before Haad Khom Koh Phangan is a more secluded and tranquil beach compared to Haad Rin or Zen Beach. It has soft and clean white sand, turquoise water and relaxed vibes.
There are also several resorts and bungalows in the area of the beach. In fact, it’s a perfect place for people looking for a quieter stay away from the more crowded areas of the island.
Haad Khom does have a few beachfront restaurants and bars. You can enjoy fresh seafood and Thai cuisine together with amazing scenic views of the ocean.
Keep in mind that there isn’t any store on the beach if you would like to buy some groceries. The nearest 7-eleven is in Chalokum village which is only few minutes away from the beach on scooter.

Snorkeling at Haad Khom Beach is enjoyable only during high tides which are from December to March. We came during low tide so we didn’t really enjoy snorkeling.
But If you really want to experience diverse marine life you should certainly visit Mae Haad Beach or Salad Beach. Both are not so far away and you can visit all beaches in one day. Or visit them one by one
It was certainly the best beach for snorkeling on Koh Phangan according to us. Just hop on your scooter and drive around 15 minutes to get there.
The beach is not the best for watching a sunset. But if you would really like to enjoy sunset, you should certainly visit Zen Beach. It has perfect laid-back hippie vibes.

Best time to visit Haad Khom Beach
The best time to visit the Haad Khom Beach Koh Phangan is during the dry season, which typically runs from December to August. During these months, you can expect more stable weather with less rainfall and more sunshine.
To really enjoy the beach and snorkeling you should certainly come during high tide. As i mentioned before high tide season is between December and March. Try to plan your vacation between this months.
