Where is Coconut Road Siargao

If you want to explore the island more, you’ll stumble upon many other beautiful Siargao palm tree roads. You will find most of them on the way to Pacifico or Alegria Beach, one of the best white sand beaches in Siargao.
Additionally, you won’t meet many tourists, and there’s little traffic, too. Going off the beaten path and exploring new places is worth it.
How to get to Coconut Road Siargao
On your own
This is by far the best option for exploring Coconut Road Siargao as well as the whole island. Rent a motorbike in General Luna for a few days and travel around the island without limitations. You also have the most freedom regarding your itinerary.
Renting a bike in General Luna won’t be a problem since it’s touristy. Therefore, there are plenty of bike rentals in town. Additionally, you can also rent bikes at many hotels, hostels, and resorts.
Most require you to hand over your national ID, sometimes a cash deposit. Bike rental costs around 300 PHP per day. However, if you rent longer, you’ll get a better price.
If you’re a surfer, you can also look for motorbikes with surf rack. Prices are little bit higher compared to basic motorbike but you can always negotiate the price. They will certainly give you better price if you take it for more days.
Make sure to check the bike before you pay for it. Test the brakes and certainly make a video of the whole bike. Make sure to document every scratch and damage on the bike.
The roads are mainly in good condition, and traffic is relatively calm. Even less experienced drivers will be just fine when driving around the island.
Tip: We recommend filling up your tank in General Luna since there are few fuel stations around the island.
Join a guided tour
Another excellent option for exploring the island is joining a Siargao Land tour. It provides a great alternative if you don’t feel confident driving around the island alone. This option also helps you plan a perfect day trip to the highlights of Siargao, all without any hassle.
A van will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. The attractions you will visit are Siargao Coconut Road, Maasin River, Sugba Lagoon, and Magpupungko rock pools. This tour also includes a lunch.
Hire a tricycle
So the last option for visiting Coconut Road is to hire a tricycle. Locals and tourists use it mostly as a taxi when they want to travel a short distance. But you can make a deal with a tricycle driver and he will take you wherever you want.
Of course, this will be more expensive than renting a motorbike. But if you don’t know how to drive a motorbike, it would be a great option since there isn’t any public transportation on the Island. If you want to save some money go on a trip with people. Three or four people will certainly fit in the tricycle.
Where to stay
Generally, the best place to stay on Siargao is the main tourist hub General Luna. All the best restaurants, accommodations, and surf rentals are located in General Luna. You can also easily rent a motorbike there. Most of the tourists decide to stay either in General Luna or nearby.
If you prefer a less crowded and developed place, we suggest staying in Alegria. This village has the most beautiful beach on the Island. Keep in mind, that there are only a few restaurants and accommodations. So if you are fine with that, go for it!

About Coconut Road Siargao
Siargao Coconut Road is a beautiful picturesque stretch lined up with palm trees. It’s undoubtedly a great place to stop for a few memorable photos. It’s becoming viral. After all, the sight of palms against the backdrop of the turquoise ocean is iconic Siargao scenery.
It’s also important to say that while there is a particular section known as “Coconut Road,” there are many other parts where you get the same views. The island is entirely covered by coconut trees, so just grab a bike and explore different roads to find hidden gems that are not so touristy.
I recommend planning a day trip from General Luna. Many other attractions on the island are worth checking out. You can also visit Pacifico Beach, Magpupungko Rock Pool, Alegria Beach, or Taktak Falls.
Since it’s directly on the main road, you should always be careful and mind the traffic when taking photos here. Many people just don’t care and they stop in the middle of the road. Therefore you should be careful while driving too.
Coconut Road Siargao is very photogenic spot. We took photos with our drone and it was less stressful than with our camera and tripod. It might be challenging if you’re a solo traveler.
Coconut Road Viewpoint
Make sure you will also stop at the Coconut viewpoint. From here, you can see never-ending rows of palm trees. Located on a little hill right before the famous palm tree road, it’s impossible to miss when traveling from General Luna.
Tip: You should join the Island hopping tour when visiting Siargao!
We highly recommend stopping by during sunset on your way back from a day trip. Imagine sitting at the edge of the road, overlooking hundreds of palms while the sky is on fire. Such a memorable experience.
We managed to take one photo before the locals started whistling at us. They watch out for people sitting on the edge of the wall because there is a big drop below and someone could get hurt there. If you want a photo, you have to do it quickly and carefully so nothing happens to you.

Best time to visit Palm tree road
Dry season: March – October
Rainy season: September – February
Day-wise, I highly recommend coming as early as possible, preferably around sunrise. That way you can avoid traffic as well as crowds. Later, capturing lovely photos with no people might be more challenging.
Another excellent time for perfect photos is sunset. The pink sky as a backdrop looks just incredible! If you have a drone, don’t forget to bring it with you. This area is perfect for flying the drone and creating stunning photos and videos.
The temperatures here are pretty consistent throughout the year. What’s more important is considering the monsoon season.
The best time to visit Siargao Island is during the dry season between March and October. The weather is pretty stable, primarily sunny during the day. It also results in higher prices and more crowds.
The rainy season starts around September or October. September to November is a surfing season because of the southwest monsoon. It brings consistent swells and incredible waves. You can witness many surf events organized during this period.
The peak of the rainy season is in January. We don’t recommend visiting Siargao during this time. Heavy and prolonged storms might occur, which will ruin your travel plans.
Other months are okay. However, you have to expect more rainfall and higher humidity. Rain often comes in short periods, usually in the evening.
Best Restaurants around Coconut Road Siargao
If you are looking for a place to eat near Palm Tree Road, there are not many options. Only a few locals are selling some snacks from their tricycles. Another option is to go near the Maasin River, where you can also find a few stalls with food.
Additionally, if you plan to travel further, the Magpupungko area also has a few restaurants serving hot food.
Other places to visit near Coconut Road Siargao
Maasin River
Maasin River is only 500m away. Nature surrounds this beautiful scenic area on every side. A calm river with countless palms all around adds to the unique atmosphere of this place. Its emerald green waters attract many people daily – locals and international tourists alike.
The main attractions of the Maasin River are swimming, tubing, kayaking, and palm tree swing. Another exciting activity is renting a kayak and going on a tour of the river. At the end, there are some interesting hidden caves. You can even choose a transparent kayak.
If you’re an adrenaline lover, you’ll be excited to hear that there are jumping decks and rope swings.
Magpupungko rock pools
Magpupungko rock pools are only 19km away from here. It’s a natural wonder like no other! Its unique geological formations and tidal pools attract many visitors each day. It can only be visited during low tide, so plan your trip accordingly.
During high tide, the water is so deep the pools are inaccessible. When low tide comes, you can enjoy the sights of the tidal pools.
Explore the pools and snorkel around to discover marine life. Adventure seekers can enjoy cliff-diving here. The water in lagoons is shallow in some parts, which is perfect for kids and non-swimmers. Other parts are 2-3 meters deep.
Magpupungko Beach is also lovely for winding down and relaxing with fresh coconut. Few restaurants serve Filipino food and fresh drinks.
Tip: If you want to see the only and most beautiful waterfall on Siargao you should visit TakTak Falls.
Pacifico beach
Pacifico Beach, situated on the northeastern coast of Siargao Island, is approximately 29km away. This beach offers white sand and mesmerizing turquoise waters. Surfers of every level can enjoy incredible waves.
The best time to visit this place for surfing and swimming is undoubtedly the high tide. During low tide, the water is too far back, and it’s almost impossible to swim.
Visitors can rent a chair, sunbed, or shelter in a privately owned area. Locals charge a small entry fee when staying in the area.
