According to us, the Bottle Beach Viewpoint Koh Phangan was by far the best viewpoint on the whole Island. An easy yet beautiful trek through the island’s lush jungle awaits.
You’ll fall in love with the views, and you can also explore Bottle Beach and the viewpoint in one day. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and should definitely be on your Thailand itinerary.

Where is Bottle Beach Viewpoint?
The viewpoint sits above Bottle Beach on the island’s northern coast. This relatively secluded place is a little bit far away from Thong Sala, the main tourist hub of Koh Phangan. You can also save the viewpoint location to your Google Maps app.
How to get to Bottle Beach Viewpoint

If you’re already on Koh Phangan, you can reach the viewpoint only by walking. You can park your motorbike or car at the start of a trail leading to the viewpoint. Of course, the most convenient option is a motorbike that you can rent for 200 THB per day.
The road leading to the parking is not in the best condition, so be careful there if you are not an experienced driver.
TIP: Did you know that all ATMs in Thailand charge you 220TBH (6€) for withdrawal? A lot, right? Keep this in mind, and rather than withdrawing little amounts too often, do it once or twice in large amounts.
Where to stay on Koh Phangan
For party lovers, the best area to stay is near Haad Rin beach. That’s where you’ll also find the famous Full Moon Party. If you’re looking for a hippie laid-back vibe or if you’re a digital nomad head to Zen Beach. Other alternatives can be found in the northern part of the island, too.

Bottle Beach Viewpoint Hike
So once you park your motorbike at the start of the trail, you can simply follow the signs “Bottle Beach Viewpoint.” The trail is well-marked and suitable for kids and older people since it’s incredibly easy.
The trail is only 650 meters long and has a slight elevation. In fact, you can reach the viewpoint in only 15 minutes.
On the way to the the viewpoint, you’ll also pass a few trees with hammocks. In case you’ll feel tired this is the best place to rest a bit. You’ll already have some views of the sea there.
The last part was a little bit tricky for us. We wondered if this was the right path when we reached the rock where the viewpoint should be. In the end, you’ll have to climb a little bit to get on the rock.
But don’t worry, ropes are attached to the rock, just grab them and climb. A small passage between the rocks allows you to reach the viewpoint.

The rock is enormous, but there is only enough space for 15 to 20 people at the top. We would recommend that you come early in the morning if you want to avoid people. We arrived around 10 am, and the rock was almost full of people.
You can certainly spend as much time as you want up there. Just enjoy your time and take some amazing pictures because the views are one of the best on Koh Phangan.
But if you want to take some beautiful pictures alone, just wait, and people will leave after a while. At least that worked for us.
You can also visit Bottle Beach and the viewpoint in one day. Once you get back from the viewpoint, you can hike to the Beach.
If you’re thinking about going there on a motorbike, forget that. The road has terrible conditions, and even an experienced driver won’t make it. I wanted to give it a try, but after a few meters, I decided to return and walk to the beach.

Best Restaurans around the Viewpoint
After hiking and enjoying the views, it’s time to eat some delicious Thai food, right? Tasty Corner, which is less than 10 minutes by motorbike from the parking, is one of your best choices.
We had lunch and dinner a few times there, and everything was tasty and reasonably priced. Actually, it’s a food court, and you’ll have many options for choosing the right food that will make you happy.
But if you are looking for a restaurant with table service, consider eating at Krua Thai Restaurant. They have friendly staff, reasonable prices, a 4.8 score on Google reviews, and tasty food.

The best time to visit the Bottle Beach Viewpoint Koh Phangan is during the dry season, typically from December to August. During these months, you can expect more stable weather with less rainfall and more sunshine.
We couldn’t wish for better weather during the dry season. Zero rainfall and perfect hot tropical days made our trip memorable.
We highly recommend coming early in the morning to avoid many people at the viewpoint. This spot is certainly excellent for watching a sunrise. If you wake up early, you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise alone.
