Bottle Beach Koh Phangan – the complete guide

/

Bottle Beach Koh Phangan also known as Haad Khuad is a beautiful, peaceful, and secluded beach. Remote location gives it a tranquil atmosphere making it a favorite among travelers seeking a quieter place where they can chill under palm trees all day.

If Koh Phangan is on your Thailand itinerary, make sure not to skip this incredible place.

You’ll certainly love Bottle Beach and you can also explore Bottle Beach Viewpoint together with Bottle Beach in one day. These places are the top attractions in Thailand for us!

In case you would like to visit both places we hihly reccommend you to see the viewpoint first and then going to the beach. Asking why? Just read on and we’ll explain it to you in more detials.

Where is Bottle Beach?

The Bottle Beach is situated under Bottle Beach Viewpoint, which is on the northern coast of the island. As i have said before it’s relatively secluded place and it’s little bit far away from Thong Sala which is main tourist hub of Koh Phangan.

You can also save the location of Bottle Beach to your google maps app.

Going to Bottle Beach can be a little bit tricky. There is a road going to the beach but if you want to go there on motorbike, unfornatelly it won’t be possible. The road is in really bad conditions and it’s dangerous to go there.

There are also multiple signs saying you should not go there on motorbike. When we saw the road we didn’t risk it even when I consider myself as experienced driver.

If you’re still thinking that it might be fine and you’ll get down, don’t forget that you’ll have to get back up. The road is really steep and dirty and in case there will be storm you’ll certainly won’t make it.

You can park your motorbike or car somewhere here on the road. From there you’ll have to walk around 40 minutes to get to the beach.

For those who are lazy to walk or just tired there is an option to hire an off-road taxi. On the road leading to the beach there are signs with phone number which you can call.

They’ll pick you up and bring you to the beach for around 200-300 THB per person.

You can also get to Bottle Beach Koh Phangan on boat but this option will of course be the most expensice. It might be good if you are a group of 4 or more people.

The last option is hiking from the Bottle Beach Viewpoint. There should be a trail leading to the beach but we used the road I described before. I heared from people that the trail is steep but still fine to use. It should take around 40 minutes.

Where to stay on Koh Phangan

For party lovers, the best area to stay is near Haad Rin beach. That’s where you’ll also find the famous Full Moon Party. If you’re looking for a hippie laid-back vibe or if you’re a digital nomad head to Zen Beach. Other alternatives can be found in the northern part of the island, too.

Bottle Beach

Once you arrive on the beach you can finally relax. It is a beautiful, peaceful little piece of paradise! Bottle Beach Koh Phangan is quite big and usually there isn’t much people. When we came on the beach we had it almost for ourselves.

There are a few beachfront restaurants on Bottle Beach serving Thai and international food. Bottle Beach Koh Phangan offers few basic accommodations such as beachfront bungalows and budget-friendly options.

In case you decided to stay there for one or few nights keep in mind that there isn’t any store on the beach.

Snorkeling at Bottle Beach wasn’t really good because we didn’t see corals or many fish. But maybe you’ll be more lucky then we were.

You should try to check the rocky end of the beach. But if you really want to experience diverse marine life you should certainly visit Mae Haad Beach which is on the other side of Koh Phangan.
