Little Adam’s peak and Adam’s peak are two different hill. As the name suggests, Little Adam’s peak is a smaller and easier to hike version of the two. It can be found near small mountain town Ella in southeastern Sri Lanka.

How to get to Little Adam’s Peak hike starting point
You can reach starting point from Ella downtown in 15 minutes on foot. The trail starts at Ella Flower Garden Resort (map). This is also a place where tuktuks are waiting.
If you feel tired after the hike, you can hire a tuktuk to take you back to your place.
The actual hike starting point is a little bit further down the road. You can either walk the narrow road along the valley all the way to Ravana pool club or take a tuktuk.
Walking only takes 10 minutes though and views are already lovely. The hiking trail starts next to Ravana pool club.
Little Adam’s Peak hike description
Once you arrive to Ravana pool club, simply follow the signs to Little Adam’s Peak. You’re going to pass Ravana zipline on the way.
The trail starts with many stairs leading to the first viewpoint. While the views are very similar, it’s definitely worth continuing all the way to the last viewpoint.
From the first viewpoint you follow the hill’s ridge. Soon, there’s gonna be steeper decline taking you down. This section is followed by a short but steep incline. It’s also the last part of the hike.
Once you reach the top of this hill, you arrived to your destination.
This peak is completely surrounded by mountains on each side. There’s just one valley stretching as far as your eyes can see. Enjoy incredible views overe never ending tea plantations and farms.

Little Adam’s Peak hike – time duration
Hiking to the first viewpoint of Little Adan’s peak should only take around one hour or so. Additionally, if you hike all the way to the last viewpoint, it might add another 20 minutes to your hike.
Since both Little Adam’s peak and 9 arch bridge are in the same area, it’s possible to visit both on the same day. There are multiple paths you can take.

The best time to hike is definitely sunrise or sunset. And that’s for two main reasons. The first one are obviously incredible colors. Nothing compares to watching sleepy Ella rise with the sun.
If you’re not an early bird, sunset is also perfect. The second reason is simply less people.
You can certainly plan the hike during the day, too. We did it that way as well. The biggest disadvantage is that on sunny days it might be very hot.
If you decide to climb all the way back to the last viewpoint, there’s significantly less people there. That means you can avoid the crowds even during busy hours.
Little Adam’s Peak zipline – Flying Ravana
If you’re looking for adrenaline adventure, certainly visit the nearby zipline Flying Ravana. The zipline is around 0.5 kilometers long and takes you above the lush valley.
Enjoy the views from a different perspective at maximum speed of 80km/h. A true adventure!
